Under the leadership of our late Pastor, Cecil McQuaig, Ph.d., THE ANSWER CENTER, formerly called the Norcross Church of God, changed its name to a more descriptive title to capture the essence of who we are. Already in place was a peripheral ministry founded by Dr. McQuaig called ANSWER BOOKS AND TAPES created to help people trapped in the bondages of our society through teaching media. The church name was a logical progression to more cohesively collect the various ministries under one umbrella in pursuit of our mission. In 1982, THE ANSWER CENTER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY was established as a biblical answer to our children’s education.
Many churches major on evangelism in obedience to the Great Commission, as well they should. Mark 16:15 states: “… Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Jesus paid the ultimate price for all humanity to be reconciled back into right relationship with The Father where we found ourselves after Adam’s sin. Once someone has surrendered to God’s plan and call on their life, they have taken the preliminary step by receiving Jesus’ sacrifice on their behalf. As has been said, “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
Outlined in Matthew 28:19, Jesus also said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” This progress in the evolution of a person’s relationship with their Father God and His only provision for eternal life, His Son Jesus Christ, is called “Discipleship”, which means to teach or train. We at THE ANSWER CENTER envision ourselves as a disciple-making station. We define a “disciple” as an eager, urgent, avid student, pupil, learner of the words, ways and person of Jesus Christ.
Loss of Identity has left this generation insecure because they don’t know who they are. Even those who find Jesus as the foundation and cornerstone of a new identity are not being taught who they are in Christ. Dr. McQuaig’s excellent “Who am I” series is foundational to new converts to begin their new adventure with Jesus on biblical footing. It is coming soon as a free download under MEDIA RESOURCES.
Pastor Greg Davis and his wife Marsha have shepherded THE ANSWER CENTER since 1996. Pastor Davis previously served as the Clerk of the Church and taught faithfully the youth class for many years. They successfully raised three children who all presently live for God and have given them 9 grandchildren to whom they are Pappa and Nina. Spiritually discipled at the feet of our late pastor, they impart eternal truths to succeeding generations. As important as the teaching, they personally model godly character for all to see in their everyday lives.
THE ANSWER CENTER also shares our facility with GRACE ROCK CHURCH, a Korean congregation, led by Pastor Sangki and Eun Sook Kim and their daughters, Jessie and Ashley. GRACE ROCK CHURCH services begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.
